Score a goal
Scoring a goal in hockey is incredibly satisfying because it's not easy. Several factors will help you score: a good team strategy, effective use of your players' strengths, and a little bit of luck.
There are five main tips for scoring a goal:
1. Get as close as possible to the goalkeeper, ideally reaching the red shooting zone. The goalkeeper's basic save chance is only 30%.
2. Ensure that the player taking the shot is the designated shooter , as this will reduce the goalkeeper's chances of making a save by 20%.
3. Take a one-timer shot , this reduces the goalkeeper's save chance by 10%.
4. If you are not close to the goalkeeper, for example if you are shooting from the yellow zone, attempt a deflected shot with an opponent in the path of the shot. This will reduce the goalkeeper's chances of saving by 10%.
5. Position one of your players within range of the trajectory or on the trajectory to deflect the shot . This will reduce the goalkeeper's chances of saving by 10%.
You can use two or more of these tactics; their effects will be cumulative. For example, the save chance for a shot from the yellow zone is 70%. If you successfully land a deflected, looping shot, the goalkeeper's chances drop to 40%!
